Overall, the song does a great job at showcasing Rihanna’s uniquely colorful vocal ability, while all the while releasing a more lyrically vulnerable side. The lyrics are filled with vivid imagery as she describes her lover as “a shooting star, a vision of ecstasy.” We are introduced to an intensely romantic side of Rihanna as she sings about how she feels alive when she is held close to her aficionado and that when together they are like “diamonds in the sky.” She further encapsulates this great love as so unbelievably strong that she knew they would “become one right away.” She goes even further passionately revealing how “at first site felt the energy of sun rays, saw the life inside eyes.” The single “shines bright like a diamond,” as is reiterated throughout the song, in a funky robotic fashion. Despite its considerably slower tempo, especially in comparison to typical Rihanna songs, you still cannot help but gyrate your hips and bop that head of yours to the enigmatically intricate beat. “Diamonds” has an enchantingly haunting and mysterious vibe embedded within it. The song is already getting great radio play and is on top of the iTunes chart just days after being released. The set features alot of album tracks and fan favourites in the first half, but featuring only hits in the second. Seeing as she didn't tour her 'Talk That Talk' album the set list heavily features tracks from both 'Talk That Talk' and 'Unapologetic'. Produced by Benny Blanco, the song is the first single to her upcoming untitled seventh album, which is set to release in November. Here is what I would like to see from Rihanna's 'Diamonds World Tour'. Her newly released single “Diamonds” is beautifully orchestrated instrumentally, vocally, and lyrically. Rihanna has done it again! Why are her songs ALWAYS and I emphasize always so gosh darn catchy? She really never fails to deliver.
